Have you been living by Faith?

“Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him.” (Hebrews 10:38)

The first line of the passage above “The just shall live by faith…” is one that many people know, recite and quote, but the question is, “who are the just”? The just are the ones who obey.

Many people believe that to live by faith means to do a chain of prayer in the church, or simply to believe in the blessings of God. However, there is a deeper meaning to the word ‘just’. Living by faith means living a just life; an obedient life; obeying God in everything.

Living by faith is very important because faith is the most precious thing we have in order to conquer our salvation; and for a total transformation to happen in our lives, we cannot separate justice from living by faith. The two work together.

”By this we know that we are of the truth, and shall reassure our hearts before Him. For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart and knows everything. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, then we have confidence before God. And whatever we ask, we will receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight.” (1 John 3:19–22)

Having a clear conscience plays a big part when it comes to living by faith. When your conscience is clear you have the confidence that you will conquer physical things as well as spiritual things. In the case of Jacob, he had many assets and possessions, but he acquired them in the wrong way. Therefore, his conscience was not clear, to the point that he became terrified to move forward as he knew he wasn’t living a righteous life.

God wants you to live a righteous life, by not fearing or doubting that He is with you but instead by living by faith!
