The 3-Week Journey in the Faith of Abraham – Day 12

“God remembered Abraham…”

Day 12 (Genesis 19)

27 “And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord. 28 Then he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain; and he saw, and behold, the smoke of the land which went up like the smoke of a furnace. 29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot had dwelt.”

We know that salvation is individual and very personal, I cannot assume that because I’m saved, my family will automatically be saved; however, here we see the impact that our relationship with God can cause in the lives of our family members, who perhaps today, like Lot, are living in Sodom and Gomorrah, which represents the sinful world.

It is clear that Lot was delivered from destruction because Abraham interceded for him. God remembered Abraham.

We see also how God blessed Job’s family because he was interceding for them:

So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did regularly.” Job 1:5

Today, we can cause the same impact in the lives of our family members and Satan knows this:

“So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? 10 Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side?” Job 1:10

Many cannot understand the reason why they are under constant attack, some even wonder: “What have I done wrong? The moment I decided to be truly faithful to God, everything around me became against me!”

Satan will always attack those who are serving God as he knows that through them God will rescue many people.

If you are in the faith of Abraham, you have authority to bless your family! Stop crying because of them, stop wondering why so many problems are affecting them, right now stretch out your hands and rebuke all evil in your house and command it to let go of your family! Determine that you and your family will serve God!

Stay strong in the faith! Not only for you but for those who are depending on your faith in God!

“And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:3

As job used to do, we should pray and present sacrifices for our family members, regardless if they’re in church or not. However we first have to make sure that we’re faithful to him.
