“Why has Satan filled your heart…”
Day 14 (Acts 5)
1 “But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. 2 And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. 3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? 4 While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” 5 Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things. 6 And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him.
7 Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. 8 And Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?” She said, “Yes, for so much.” 9 Then Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.” 10 Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband. 11 So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things.”
In the New Testament, more precisely, in the primitive Church, people were sacrificing to God; a couple even sold their possession and presented it to God. For those who say that we no longer need to sacrifice today and nowhere in the New Testament we find passages mentioning about people presenting sacrifices, the passage above, is one of those they wish didn’t exist.
There is someone who hates sacrifice, he interfered in people’s sacrifices in the past and he will today, do everything he can to stop people from sacrificing to God. Yes, you already know who he is, the devil.
Note that he was the one who put in the heart of Ananias and his wife the thought of not presenting to God what they had proposed at first. Satan knows that if we present to God the sacrifice He has chosen for us, God will manifest His power in an extraordinary way, our lives shall never be the same again.
I can imagine the spiritual conflict Jesus faced when he was about to present His life as a sacrifice, chosen by God. Please have a look at the video below and you will understand it better…
You can be sure that this week, satan will try to fill your heart with doubts and negative thoughts and cause a lot of adversities in order for you to give up on the idea of presenting the Sacrifice God has asked you to present.
The same strategy he used with Ananias and Sapphira, he will use with those who are in the faith of Abraham, he knows he cannot stop them from sacrificing to God, therefore he’ll try to convince them to present something else but not what God has chosen.
Watch out! Don’t let Satan fill your heart with deceit, either you come on the Altar with a true sacrifice, the one chosen by God, or it’s better for you not to climb the Altar at all!
I advise you all to make a purpose of fasting and prayer this week, in order for you to overcome all the attempts of the devil who will surely try at all cost to fill your heart with lies and create all sorts of adversities for you not to climb the Altar with your Isaac!
You could fast and pray at one of these three times:
6am until Mid-day – Mid-day until 6pm – 6pm until Midnight
Also, this whole week, I will be praying ON THE RADIO at 3 o’clock in the morning for all those who will sacrifice to God what He has chosen for them. I will pray for God to glorify His name in their lives like never before, and also, I will rebuke all evil in their lives!
If you would like me to pray for you, please write down your name below on the comments section and press submit comment.
7 more days to go, don’t look back, watch, pray, remain focused! Let’s continue reading this week the book of Genesis chapters 21, 22, 23 & 24.
See you on the Altar…
