The 3-Week Journey in the Faith of Abraham – Day 21

“NO! I will never go back there!”

Day 21 (Genesis 24)

1 Abraham was now a very old man, and the Lord had blessed him in every way. One day Abraham said to his oldest servant, the man in charge of his household, “Take an oath by putting your hand under my thigh. Swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and earth, that you will not allow my son to marry one of these local Canaanite women. Go instead to my homeland, to my relatives, and find a wife there for my son Isaac.” The servant asked, “But what if I can’t find a young woman who is willing to travel so far from home? Should I then take Isaac there to live among your relatives in the land you came from?”

“No!” Abraham responded. “Be careful never to take my son there.”

When God called Abraham he was in a city named Ur of the Chaldeans. Ur was an idolatrous city worshiping many different gods. Abraham’s father Terah, according to Joshua 24:2, worshiped idols. Ur was an evil and sinful city.

Abraham didn’t want to ever go back there nor his son to have nothing to do with that kind of life, since it was against everything he had taught him.

The same concern Abraham had must be yours today: Never go back to where you were in the beginning of your Journey of faith.

The Campaign of Israel starts the moment God inspires you, continues as you take the envelope from the altar and bring your sacrifice on the day and is finally concluded when you receive your answer — which may be weeks or months after the day of the Sacrifice. You need to actively pursue what you have asked for. You cannot give God, the devil or yourself any rest until you reach your goal.

Make Abraham’s words your own and say it out loud now:

“NO! I will never go back there! Now is the moment to go forward and glorify my God with my testimony!”

This week, I will be presenting the requests of those who have embarked in this journey of Faith in the footsteps of Abraham on the Altar of Solomon’s Temple, together with Bishops and Pastors from all over the world. Join us next Saturday and Sunday at the UCKG.

Connect to our radio program tonight at 10pm (Hong Kong) as we’ll be making a prayer of agreement
