The 3-Week Journey in the Faith of Abraham – Day 4

“The desire to rescue souls…”

DAY 4 (Genesis 14)

14 Now when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his three hundred and eighteen trained servants who were born in his own house, and went in pursuit as far as Dan. 15 He divided his forces against them by night, and he and his servants attacked them and pursued them as far as Hobah, which is north of Damascus. 16 So he brought back all the goods, and also brought back his brother Lot and his goods, as well as the women and the people. (Genesis 14:14-16)

Abraham did not think twice when he heard the message, he did not think about his own life but all he thought about was to rescue those who were taken captive. Notice that he didn’t only rescue Lot but also the women and the people, he risked his life so others could be saved, he sacrificed his own life to save not only his family but also others he wasn’t even close to.

The more we talk about Abraham, the more God reveals to us the kind of servants He’s looking for to show His glory in this world. Jesus said:

‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ (Matthew 25:36-40)

Do you have a strong desire to save souls? Do you care about others in the same way you care about yourself? Have you been going the extra mile to rescue people from the hands of the kings of darkness? Are you ready to sacrifice your time and go after those who are lost like Abraham did?

God is inviting you to do a very SPECIAL fasting, actually, this is the fast chosen by God Himself, to rescue souls!

6 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen:

To loose the bonds of wickedness,

To undo the heavy burdens,

To let the oppressed go free,

And that you break every yoke?

7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,

And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out;

When you see the naked, that you cover him,

And not hide yourself from your own flesh?

8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning,

Your healing shall spring forth speedily,

And your righteousness shall go before you;

The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;

You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ (Isaiah 58)

Before Sunday, go after those who are suffering and talk to them about the testimonies you are witnessing in the Church, talk about your own testimony, that’s even stronger! Bring them with you this Sunday (or any other day you will be coming) and show God that you care for others as Abraham did!

God will give you everything you are asking for if you FIRST, sacrifice everything He’s asking you to sacrifice! Let’s imitate Abraham, let’s rescue souls!

Every night at 10pm (Hong Kong), join our radio program as we’ll be making a prayer of agreement with all those who have embarked in this journey!
