“Offer to God thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High.” (Psalm 50:14)
Task: If you have any unfulfilled vows, make sure you bring them to the house of God tomorrow. You can prepare an offering of thanksgiving according to your faith, to present together with all unfulfilled vows.
Meditate on this passage diligently in the morning and especially before going to bed:
1 Corinthians 11:17-30
Unworthy – To participate in an unworthy manner of the Lord’s Supper is to eat the Body and drink the Blood of Christ without fear, reverence, or gratitude. It means taking part without analysing or without considering what the Lord Jesus was willing to do for humanity. It means to sit at His table in a frivolous manner, without valuing His sacrifice or His Teachings. It means to hold in contempt the call to repentance and to eat while still in sin. The person that takes part of the Lord’s Supper in that way is considered guilty of the death of the Saviour and for that reason, will stand before God in the same standing as Annas, Caiaphas, and Pilate, who condemned His Son (John 18-19). In the spiritual world, only two types of people exist: those who benefit from the Body and Blood of Jesus and those who become guilty in Judgment along with everyone who is responsible for His crucifixion.
Worthy – Those who take part of the Supper worthy are those who are aware of their indignity before God and recognise that only through the Lord Jesus they are able to have such a great privilege. They treat spiritual matters with zeal, discernment, and faithfulness, that is why the elements of the Lord’s Table attribute to them the justice the Saviour reached on the cross.
Task: In preparation for the Lord’s Supper tomorrow morning, follow the direction on this passage: make a thorough examination of your thoughts, intentions, desires, aspirations, words and actions. Let go of what is not in line with God’s principles.
