How to obtain the greatest and most glorious victory

It is true that testimonies are the proof of the veracity of the Word of God. And in the same way testimonies are true, the Word of God and everything written in it is also true, even heaven and hell.

That’s why the Word of God urges us to “lay aside every weight and the sin that easily ensnares us.” (See Hebrews 12:1). Weights such as thoughts that are contrary to faith, bad eyes, malice, wrong intentions, doubts, fears, our past, grudges and the like. And the reality is that, this is why many times we don’t progress or see the results that we want; sin keeps us in bondage.

The Holy Spirit is always prompting us to surrender. He shows us when we ask in sincerity what we are still holding on to, because as long as we hold on to these “heavy weights,” we’ll slow ourselves down and won’t be able to finish our journey of faith. And even worse, our souls will always be at risk of perdition.

For this reason, it is crucial that we resist and persevere every day. Although it’s not easy, in the midst of the battle, we can’t complain, murmur or allow ourselves to fall into temptation. On the contrary, we must run with endurance, confess our victory and believe that God is a ‘Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him’. As we’ve come to learn, in order to bear everything that the world and the devil throws at us we must look to Jesus. He is the Bishop of our souls; the One who endured until the end amidst all the pain and hardships. And this is what we have to do; this is the secret to attaining and maintaining our salvation. Yes, He wants us to glorify His name, but more than that He wants to save our souls. He is the Word and as long as we keep our minds and thoughts focused on Him, we’ll leave no room for defeat.

When God sees that we have ears to hear, that’s when He begins to conduct our lives and it is this obedience that gives us the audacity to go and conquer. We can’t let fear impede us from acting. When we make the Word of God our guide and we are willing to sacrifice what God asks of us, there will be no limits to what we can achieve. In fact, we don’t lose, we gain, just like Gideon! Not only does He make us walking Bibles, He uses us to rescue souls. But most importantly, we obtain the greatest and most glorious victory of all, which is our names will be written in the Book of Life.
