The 3-Week Journey in the Faith of Abraham – Day 1

“And you shall be a blessing…”
We are starting today our 3-week journey in the faith of Abraham. From June 27 till July 17, you will put in to practice the main teachings from the life of Abraham, in order to experience the materialization of your dreams and to have a relationship with God you’ve never had. You will embark on a journey of faith which will be marked by sacrifice, the element that will enable you to achieve the blessings of God in your life and more, to make you into a blessing!

“Look to Abraham your Father…” (Isaiah 51:2)

Why does the Bible invite us to look at Abraham? Why Abraham? God wants us to look at Abraham to find out the steps we must take today in order to have the same rights Abraham had in the past and to live the same quality of life Abraham lived and is still living! We must imitate Abraham in faith and in obedience.

“Now Abraham was old, well advanced in age; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.” (Genesis 24:12)

Extreme obedience to God was the main quality Abraham possessed and it was materialized through his sacrifices. Everything God asked Abraham to do he did, without hesitation, he obeyed God in everything, even when asked to sacrifice his son, he did not deny him, consequently Abraham was blessed in all things. Besides having a courageous faith, Abraham was patient to wait for the fulfilment of the Promise.

Day 1(Genesis 12:1-4)

Promises to Abram

Now the Lord had said to Abram:

“Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house to a land that I will show you, I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him…

This was the first sacrifice of Abraham and it will be your first sacrifice also. He had to leave his homeland, his customs, his friends, in short, he had to leave everything behind.

Through this we learn that before God turns us into a blessing, we must leave our land, symbolizing our sinful habits; leave our household and relatives, symbolizing our old customs and traditions; and finally, leave the house of our father, in other words, leave behind the leadership in the voice of our parents in our hearts and replace it with the voice of God.

May God give you the strength to obey Him in everything during this journey of faith!
