We are God’s greatest creations. No other creations of God are called His children; not even the angels were granted the title ‘Children of God’. So, as His greatest creations, God has a dream that we will return to Him one day.
You can be certain that when the angels look at us, they say: ‘what a privilege you have’. They look at some people and say, ‘Well done, I would do the same in your place; I’d do everything to be called the “child of God”’. To other people, they look and say, ‘What a waste! If only you knew the honour of being called the child of the Most High God’.
There is no greater title than this in the whole of creation. Today, no matter who you are, you have an opportunity to make a covenant with the Most High God, to become His child, His own very special treasure.
When I lose something in life, although I feel the loss, I know that I did not lose God or my title of being His child, so I believe I still have everything.
You may lose a job, money or friends. People will leave you and certain situations may not work out in your favour, but as long as you know that you have a covenant with God, and that He is with you, then nothing is lost. Many of the losses you face in life may be because your covenant with God is non-existent or broken.
Establish your covenant with God today and stop worrying about the people who do not value it. Even if your husband, your wife or even your children do not want to establish such a covenant, if you do, you should go ahead and do so.
Simply acknowledging that He is God, that He is great and that He exists is not enough. God doesn’t want a basic relationship with you, one in which you believe in Him but do not live by His principles. God wants a relationship with you that is as important as marriage. He doesn’t want you for an hour every Sunday for you to just fall back into the arms of the world; He wants you to stay with Him. He doesn’t want to share you with anyone else.
You throw yourselves into the principles of the world when all God wants is to give you a life that is far greater than the one you’re living. God wants you to be healthy, happy and peaceful; He wants you to smile and to prosper. God knows what you are going through. He feels the pain you feel.
God wants Psalm 23 to be a reality in your life. But this is only possible when you make the Lord your Shepherd and have a covenant with Him. Stop resisting the voice of the Shepherd. He wants you to be blessed. When you die, He wants to save your soul.
‘This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them…’ (Hebrews 10.16)
